Mailing lists

Several mailing lists are hosted on Eurecom’s sympa server.

How to subscribe or unsubscribe to a mailing list

Clicking on the link [subscribe] (or [unsubscribe]) above should open your email client. You then simply need to send the email.

If clicking the above link does not work, manually send an email to sympa@lists.eurecom.fr with the subject subscribe [list name] [your first name] [your last name] (unsubscribe instead of subscribe to unsubscribe).

[list name] is one of openair5g-user, openair5g-devel, openaircn-user, openaircn-devel depending on which mailing list you want to subscribe to (or unsubscribe).

How to Ask Questions on the Mailing Lists

When posting to the OpenAirInterface (OAI) mailing lists, a clear and structured email greatly increases the chances of receiving helpful responses. At a minimum, your email should include the following:

  • Clear subject line:

    • Use [Query] for general questions.
    • Use [Problem] for issues or errors.
  • Description:
Provide a concise summary of the issue or question.

  • Attachments:

    • Only include diagrams if relevant.
    • Configuration files for OAI gNB/DU/CU/CU-CP/CU-UP should be in .conf (text) format and not in any other format.
    • Logs should be in .log or .txt format. Do not send screenshots or (Libre/Microsoft) Office files.
  • Performance-related queries:
Include a brief description of your system: Operating System (OS), Kernel version, CPU, RAM, network card, and a diagram of your testing environment.

  • Check existing issues:
Known or open issues are tracked on GitLab. Kindly review these before posting.

Always Remember

A well-structured email helps us and the community understand your issues quickly, increasing the chances of receiving attention. Please do not send the same email to multiple mailing lists; it won’t help get more attention. Instead, target the pertinent mailing list (CN or RAN, user or developer).

RSS feed

There is an RSS feed available for each mailing list. Click on [Archives] of the corresponding mailing list, then click on “RSS” on the left side. For instance, RSS feed information for the openair5g-user mailing list is here.

Legacy mailing lists

There are some “legacy” mailing lists. They are here for completeness, but please use the above mailing lists for new messages
